There’s been lot of white people telling me how I should feel/handle racism and racist lately, and I don’t know how to feel about it.
Somewhere where people aren’t so quick to stomp on your weaknesses.

Is this worth it. Will this subside. Will this end.
It was just another summer day
until she walked in the room
the air changed in his lungs
surrounded by strange faces
and the cheering of a stadium
They sat in a small dim lit room
in a french themed diner
they exchanged words that felt like they would never change.
Surrounded by strange creatures, hungry for attention. And yet bright meaningful smiles crossed both of their faces. They stared into each other’s eyes oblivious to everything else around them. It was all they needed. It was more than enough.
Fast forward two years and things are astray
hearts are heavy as he stares into her eyes
Questions of doubt loomed over the both of them
Under a small roof, the two were estranged
where did time go. Two different years, yet two different fears.
Desire to be something more.
But lost in the desire to be something else.
Goodbye friend. Goodbye lover.
They weren’t built for this
Falling asleep in an empty room
the gentle buzz of the television slumbered him off to sleep.
Grazed only by the feeling of remorse
He screams at her to understand
she screams back there’s nothing more
Two years was too long
She’ll haunt him in his dreams tonight

two broken bodies with no desire to change
Constantly on his mind.

I hope you find time to find someone who will love you as much as you’ve deserved this whole time.

All of this hard work and stress will work out.
It has to.
Then I won’t need you anymore.
